LBS and HEC Paris Top Financial Times Rankings

Financial TimesLondon Business School (LBS) and HEC Paris continue to retain their top positions in the Financial Times list of post-experience and pre-experience Masters in Finance courses, respectively. These schools have been at the top ever since Financial Times first published its list in 2011.

The Financial Times ranks the top 50 full-time finance courses for those with little or no financial experience and the top five full-time finance courses for those with experience. It bases its rankings on the results of surveys of students as well as business schools, taking into consideration crucial factors such the success of alumni in terms of achievements, seniority, and salary during their first three years as graduates.

Although HEC Paris does not occupy the top position for any of the above-mentioned individual criteria, its performance has been consistently good. Its alumni get the fifth-highest salaries of $93,000 during their first three years after graduating and its business course occupies the third rank for international mobility of its alumni and value for money. As far as aims achieved are concerned, the school gets the top score of 93 percent.

A graduate of HEC Paris said:

The course was delivered by top-notch practitioners. The program is perfectly designed for young professionals having limited finance experience and allows them to be immediately operational upon graduation.

In the Financial Times post-experience list, LBS alumni got the highest salaries of $130,000 during their first three years as graduates. The school also achieved the top score of 87% for aims achieved and its alumni were placed in the second rank for progress in career and international mobility.

Five finance programs have found their way in the Financial Times pre-experience rankings for the first time, and the new school with the highest rank is Singapore Management University’s Lee Kong Chian School of Business. It is not only the first school to feature in the post-experience as well as pre-experience rankings, but also comes second for international mobility of its alumni.

Although Spanish and French business schools occupy the top spots in the Financial Times pre-experience rankings, the largest number of schools that feature in the list are located in the UK. Of the total number of 50 schools in the rankings, 17 are from the UK while only six are from France and eight are from the US. However, only the University of Cambridge’s Judge Business School and LBS occupy top positions in the post-experience list.
